Many Indian brands are bringing out tablets and Celkon is one which claims to be the top brand in South with regard to smartphones. This home-grown mobile phone brand has added fire to the ongoing low-cost tablet war with its Ee-Tab (CT-1). The tablet is price will be in the range of Rs 6,450-7,450 and has a hug. e collection of applications that can be accessed offline too.

This Hyderabad-based company plans to target students with embedding apps like My Tutor. This app basically carries data and question papers for students who are appearing for national common tests for engineering and management. The device is tied up with third party app developers for using some of these apps, For geeks, the 7-inch screen device comes with 512 MB RAM and 1.2 GHz processor. It is build on Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and contains 4 GB of internal memory with provision to expand up to 32 GB. Users can access the wireless networks using WiFi and 3G dongle options.

Addressing the press at the conference, Yer Guru, managing director, said the company has plans to sell one lakh tablets by December-end.The company is also planning to launch 3 other models also.
