Toshiba introduces 500GB hard disk as worlds thinnest hard disk

Recently Toshiba, the leading electronics manufacturers, launched their new Hard disk which is titled as the ' The Worlds thinnest Hard disk'.
The company's new Canvio Slim portable hard drive comes in at just 9mm thick offering 500GB of storage. Interestingly, the recently launched iPhone 5 is just 7.6mm thick, and the Galaxy S III is 8.6mm in size. Yes, this hard drive is so small that it can easily fit in your shirt pockets!

Offering USB 3.0 connectivity, the new hard drive measures 107x75x9mm. It also has a brushed aluminium finish for style-conscious users. 


The hard drive has got NTI Backup Now EZ software preloaded; it scans the computer system and recommends the best coverage for your computer.

It also features 5400 RPM and an 8MB cache buffer, along with a 12 ms average seek time.  The device will be priced at $115 and also  it can now be directly purchased from the company. 
The hard drive is available in two colours--graphite black and brushed aluminum grey.

It is likely to hit retail stores starting in October.
