It has been recently revealed that researchers at the two British Universities have been trying to develop flying robots. Important thing about the concept is that the researchers have been developing a brain, which mimics bees.
It has been done so that the flying robots are able to carry out rescue missions as well as able to pollinate crops.
The
project being led by Dr. James Marshall, from the University of
Sheffield, has revealed that they are not alone in the development of
project and have been working in the collaboration with the University
of Sussex.
Marshall was of the view that the project named as "Green Brain" project is worth $1.3 million. He further affirmed that the research is one of a kind, as they have trying to develop computer models of bees by mimicking their biological brains.
"Because the honeybee brain is smaller and more accessible than any vertebrate brain, we hope to eventually to be able to produce an accurate and complete model”, further asserted Marshall.
One of the main aims to carry out the research on bees was that their minds are quite sharp. They have ability to find ways to their colony, and researchers want to mimic the same intelligence
